Lady Lucinda Davenport must find a way to keep her husband's family from taking his estate away from her once he passes away. The best way to accomplish this in 1796 London? Produce an heir, fast. Unfortunately, her husband is too ill to be of any help so Luncinda must find another way to get an heir and one that will have no future repercussions. Drugging a man and shackling him to a bed for her needs -- is that so wrong?

Lucien Brandford, fourth Duke of Carlsborough, was selected because of his promiscuity more than his wealth isn't a willing participant in her plans when we wakes from the drugs -- at first. But the lady, who's naked by the way, explains her dilemma, things heat up. But will their new liaison melt his heart? Or will her worst fears be realized?

Desperate Desires is a well written historical piece that engaged me emotionally as a reader and presented a well thought out plot. While some of the plot twists were a little hard to follow at times, the ending was clear and very well done. The primary characters were charming and realistic and the secondary characters were effective as well. The setting, costume, and dialogue read authentic to this reader and the sensual scenes were just right for this tale. The plot gave the author an excuse to throw quite a bit of sensuality into this book but instead the author gave good reason for such scenes and instead focused on building a relationship between the characters which I rather enjoyed. I'd be interested in seeing more work from this author as a fan of historical romance. Ms. Terri Wolffe is an author to watch!
