Georgia Tribell continues this series about the emerald that has been passed down through generations in Beth's family. She's obviously a responsible, caring person as she works to clean up the mess made by her ex husband and help her sister. Jared, her ex, isn't a very nice man. It's hard for the reader to see what she ever found loveable about him. Daniel Foster is a client of her real estate agency who doesn't like to take no for an answer. He's persistent to the point of being obnoxious about his pursuit. Ms. Tribell builds Beth as one of those people who give so much it's about time she found someone to care about her. Chad seems to be the man for the job as his protective instincts and feelings for her grow through some really trying times.

It's fun to see the love between Chad and Beth blossom even as they're hounded by someone who seems determined to ruin any chance of a future for them. The suspense grows as quickly as the romance until we can't wait to see who's behind the mayhem. The author does a fantastic job building this story and keeping us guessing up to the very end. This is one of those books you won't want to put down!
