| Mandrake Morgan, CEO of Morgan, Ltd. is the hereditary male coven leader of Coven of the Wolf, the largest mid-western coven in the United States.
Drake is an empath, and employees a wide mixture of humans, witches and werewolves. When it becomes obvious that his company is under attack, and that there is a traitor on the inside, Drake has to utilize all of his considerable powers to uncover the traitor and save his people. Oh yes, and to save the one person in the world destined for him, Rhea Brown.
Rhea has recently moved into the area and has uncovered proof of treachery on the part of her employer, Seb Headley. Seb is chief legal counsel for Morgan, Ltd...and a conspirator with Warrick Bettencourt. Warrick will go to any lengths to destroy Drake and to assume leadership of the coven, including murder. Drake discovers Rhea through the telepathic bond formed between only two perfect mates. Rhea is an untrained witch, and has little time to learn about her destiny. Her late grandmother, Elspeth was also a witch of tremendous power and her spirit has returned to help guide Rhea into the fullness of her powers and her destiny. This is absolutely one of my favorite reads of the year! The story is well plotted, the world is internally consistent, and the characters are so well drawn that you cannot help but become deeply involved with them. Drake is an absolutely perfect Alpha male, and Rhea is his complete equal. The book is filled with exotic danger, mystery, spells, and HOT romance! The sexual relationship between Rhea and Drake is explicit, and to be honest, the language is not one I would normally be completely comfortable with. Having said that, and having read this book, I find myself unable to find any way that this could have been better written. The language and sex are perfect for the characters and the plot, (and frankly, have given me a few ideas as well...) Congratulations to Ms. Morgan for a book very well done.
