| Long ago a group of powerful sorcerers came together to create a spell that would control time. One hundred and ninety-nine of the strongest and most powerful men and women were willing to give up their corporal body and become pure energy. But things went wrong; one member wanted the power all for himself and at the last minute he pulled out, causing the spell to go wrong. An orb was formed and Catarin becomes the Guardian who controls it. But her power is weakening and if the child of prophecy doesn’t come soon they will all be destroyed.
Arlana lived in a time when magic was a way of life. Their very beginnings evolved from magic. Arlana herself is thought to be the strongest sorceress ever born, her powers limitless. Arlana’s birth has been prophesied for two hundred years. The Prophesy said she would control all and command all magic. Lord Commander Oric is destined to be the First Protector to the prophesized child. He is sent to Castle Fordin to get Arlana. Oric has known of Arlana since her birth; she has been in his dreams throughout his life. The day she was born the orb reacted to her presence and only she can right the wrong done so long ago. Oric and Arlana must travel to his city and there are many dangers along the way. There are some who think that Arlana’s death will put things to right, but Oric knows better and guards her with his life. The last thing he needs is to be distracted by her beauty or the strong desire he has for her. As they travel to Czanri Oric falls deeply in love with Arlana. Arlana is also developing strong feelings toward Oric, but she is confused by the dreams she has had since a small child, dreams that are very real. Her dream man told her she was destined to be his and he would kill Oric if necessary. Arlana fears for Oric’s life so she pulls away from him. Pgar is the man who invaded Arlana’s dreams and wants her for himself. He sends the Gemorin to attack them and Arlana and Oric are captured and brought before him. He is a blood mage and gains his powers from draining the life forces of others. Two hundred years ago he was known as Gavin and he was the one who caused the spell to go wrong. Pgar wants to control all magic and by binding Arlana to him he can succeed. Will Oric and Arlana escape in time to solve the riddle and close the rift that could destroy time? Will Pgar take control and use the orb to make himself all-powerful? Or will Oric and Arlana’s love give them the power to defeat the blood sorcerer and put things back the way they should be? Only time will tell. Isabo Kelly shows just how talented she is with this wonderful fantasy story. She will take you into a world filled with magic, sorcery, goblins and warriors. She brings them all to life as you read this wonderful love story. This is the second book in a series and I became totally involved with the characters. I can’t help but wonder what will be the next quest Arlana and Oric will face. If you love fantasy and a very passionate romance, then be sure to get Destiny’s Seduction. I would also recommend you get the first book Thief’s Desire as well.
