Dominix fell for Jessica months ago, but she's not into him. Or is she? When he runs into her at a BDSM club, he realizes she's been hiding something from him. Jessica is in trouble. Her friend is missing, and she knows something bad happened to her. When she hires Hades Squad security and the danger comes to her doorstep, she doesn't count on having Dominix, aka Devil, as a personal bodyguard. The close proximity forces Jessica to confront her personal demons so she can accept the kind of love Dominix offers.

Deviant Devil was one rocking read. It caught me from the first word and kept me glued the entire time. This is the third novel in the series, but it's not necessary to read the previous two to absolutely love Deviant Devil. The chemistry between Jessica and Dominix crackles from the page and heats up the room. The erotic scenes between them are plentiful, yet Ms. Carlo manages to develop the characters and their relationship more with each steamy encounter.

More than that, the intrigue woven throughout this love story increases the tension and urgency in the novel, complementing what Dominix and Jessica are going through privately. The danger facing Jessica is real, and the threat won't go away unless they can solve the problem. There are a few places where the sheer number of characters becomes confusing, especially when the action accelerates at the end, and a place where the action felt glossed-over. I would have liked to have spent more time learning the story from Jessica's point of view, especially at the end when I almost lost contact with her.

Still, the writing style is friendly and inviting, and the characters are completely sexy, combustible, and lovable. Jianne Carlo's Hades Squad series is a must read.
