It took him a year to find her! Sir Devlin Vaughn had searched for Julia Beaumont endlessly since she humiliated him in front of the theatre almost a year agotwo weeks after she first did not show up for their liaison two weeks in a row. She was at the theatre with a pompous man, Bertram Wilder, Viscount Clayton. Since she mortified Devlin in front of many of his peers and disappeared with Clayton, he had no problem believing the Viscount’s lies about where she was and what she was doing. He plotted his revenge and, finally, he had found her. Not too bad for his hard work; after all, he did not know where she went or even what her last name was. Her uncle, with whom she lived while he was meeting her, had disowned her after Clayton spread all those nasty rumors.

When Devlin saw Julia leaving a card game with two men, one on each arm, he felt that everything he had heard was authenticated. Julia agreed to go home with him to keep the men from fightingshe told them where they could find her the next morning. He had prepared his home for her arrival. He had dismissed all his servants except his valet, Whittle. He took her to her new “home,” upstairs in his estate, where all the doors were bolted and windows covered. His revenge had just begun!

This is a well plotted, fast-paced book about true love and how it can affect different personalities. Ms. Dawn Halliday has written an interesting story with intriguing characters that seem quite real. This powerful story has much to impress the reading public. It ends quite uniquely and is hard to put down. I recommend this book for a quick read that you will remember well.
