| The diamond mine, Kimberlite, pipe's assay report showed potentially high yields of quality diamonds and for the first six months it panned out. Now diamond yields are dropping, the stock prices for the mine are falling, and shareholders are up in arms. Pedra Paris, a geologist, was asked to give a independent analysis of the core. Seth Cooper, an undercover cop was sent in to find out about a possible diamond smuggling ring. They are thrown together as boyfriend and girlfriend to uncover the plot to ruin the company.
Seth is portrayed as the macho tough guy, who pilots planes for the company. Pedra is the smart independent woman. Even though they work together, they both have secret agendas. I did feel sorry for Pedra at first because her friends did not believe she had a boyfriend. She was always too busy for a boyfriend. Even though she was beautiful it must of been a lonely life with just work and no love. This was a very well researched story. The detail of the area put you right into the Canadian subarctic diamond mine operation. The story has a smooth flow with believable characters.
