| Sebastian Shade and Diamond are trying to adjust to life together. This can be trying at the best of times because Diamond is still conflicted about being in love with a vampire. Now it looks like someone is going around killing vampires and it may be another destroyer with a link to Sebastian. Diamond doesn't know how to feel about another Destroyer with a connection to Sebastian Shade, he begins to wonder what Sebastian's hold is over Destroyers? Is he really in love or is this all a mind game?
I have really enjoyed this series. This book was amusing and at times heart wrenching but never boring. I was completely engrossed in the story and the interaction between all of the characters. The main characters were really well written; I especially liked the character of Diamond. There were so many dimensions to him, I liked that he was humorous even though he was brought up to supposedly not have any feelings and though brusque at times he was always likeable and his feelings seemed to make him more real to the reader. The secondary characters also brought a lot to the story and helped to keep it light hearted even through the serious parts. There were also some very steamy m/m sex scenes in the book, so I would recommend it if you have issues with m/m situations. I would like to see more books with these characters, but I just don't see how much more the author could improve on this one.
