Antonio Rodriguez needs a wife. He has eight months to find a woman and marry her or forfeit his inheritance to his cousin. If only he could find a special woman that would just go along with the charade for the required twenty four months and then go her own way.

Christine Lange is down on her luck. The company she was working for went under, leaving her without a job. Broke and almost homeless, she does not know where to go now.

When Tonio happens upon Chris, he decides she may be just what he has been looking for. Now the question is can they ever make their fake marriage work? And if they do, can they walk away when it is over?

I think Fran Lee has a winner with Dictated by Fate. Not only is it witty and exciting, it is also amusing and very romantic. The characters are wonderful. Chris is realistic and likeable. Her luck is far from good, and is even worse where men are concerned. But she is a caring, sweet, down to earth girl while Tino is a fantasy man, with his awesome good looks and loads of money. He is also so much more than just wealthy, he is caring and just an all around good guy. Their unconventional relationship is amusing with all the misconceptions they have about each other. It is very sweet to read about them opening up to each other. I also enjoyed all the other characters, such as Jose and his wife Maria. They are all so genuine and wonderful. The descriptions of the settings were also well done and easy to imagine. The plot flowed nicely. It had lots of twists and drama, while keeping it romantic. I enjoyed this novel from beginning to end. It is easy to lose your self in Chris and Tonio's world!
