What a sweet and interesting book! Ms. Campbell truly excels when writing her World War II books. This is, obviously, not my first one, nor will it be my last. She has an incredible way of grabbing my attention and absolutely not letting up! I love her style, the fact that she makes all her characters so real, and the way her stories gift us with a bit of the unexpected.

Scott, a 1st Sergeant in WWII, had been writing to Cassie Wright from Florida. The last letter he wrote he proposed; when he was discharged, he and his friend, Ed, headed for Azucar Beach, Cassie’s hometown. What Scott did not know was, since their letters had ended, Cassie’s musical abilities were again in the spotlight. She had been notified by the Chancellor of Bennett Conservatory of Music that she was being considered for entrance. That had been a dream, but not a consideration, when they were corresponding.

Cassie’s family was opposed to her and Scott getting together because of her potential to greatness through the conservatory. However, Scott loved her and would not take “No,” for an answer. Could they work out their problems and stay in love? How was Cassie going to be able to convince Scott that she did not want to marry now? Her best friend, Trixie, and Scott’s fellow soldier, Ed, had a secondary story. How would that affect the would-be couple?

This is a wonderful feel-good light love story! It is not intense, so you can read it and relax; it has a sweet flow of love and family conflict. You will be thrilled to read this story; I was, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to you. Kudos to Ms. Campbell!
