| Bobby Joe's in denial, plain and simple. Not only has he cheated on his soon to be ex-wife, but he's also denied how strongly he feels for Ash, the handsome stranger of his affair. Bobby Joe thinks he's in for a great time this Valentine's Day. What he's about to discover is that his dashing lover has one hell of a surprise in store.
Dirty Little Lie surprised me. In the beginning, and as the story progressed, I was bombarded with the impression that being gay is bad, vile, and evil. Hoping for a little redemption to that theme, I tried to ignore the terrible pronoun usage that made the story even more confusing, and continued only because it was short. Sadly, I received only the message that Bobby Joe would live eternity in such damnation. The eroticism in this story was overshadowed by the horror and evilness of Bobby Joe's lover, Ash. So much so, I found this story hard to like. I understand it was not exactly a romance, as the genre dictates, but this one was too much darkness, even for me. If anything good, I will say that the character, Bobby Joe was commendable. At least he was willing to face hell itself for his beliefs.
