Reed Harris is a reporter, drawn into a murder mystery. Her next door neighbor leaves her an object that looks like a key right before she's killed. She wanted Reed to give the key to her grandson, Bain. The only problem is that she and Bain, her ex-fiancée, have not seen each other in two years.

Bain Kavanaugh can't wait to get Reed back into his life. He made a mistake two years ago and is willing to do whatever is necessary to rectify the situation. He's angered that his grandmother was killed over a secret she wasn't willing to share, but he's happy that she had the foresight to have Reed bring him the key so that they can solve the mystery together.

This was a decent story, but I felt that the suspenseful aspects were lacking. I honestly didn't care about that part of the story and thought it distracted from the relationship between Reed and Bain. They had history, which made the instant attraction between them realistic. The tension was off the charts, but once they reestablished their relationship, the mystery, which involved locating some stolen treasure, took over. This was my first read by Tawny Taylor and I would read something else by her.
