Jenna Margaret Winslow is a children’s author of DeeDee the Dinosaur books. Most of her time, she spends in the museum with the dinosaurs, and remembering her deceased father, who was a palaeontologist and asset to the scientific community. He was the only one who understood and loved her scars after the airplane crash that killed her mother. Even her grandmother, who helped raise her after the accident, thought her looks repulsive. Jenna finds solace in visiting the museums and working on her children’s books. Matt McCutcheon happens to be visiting the museum the day he meets Jenna. Even though he is confined to a wheelchair, he thrives to be self-sufficient. At first Jenna finds him a bit cold then as they begin sharing conversation, he warms up to her. He had heard of her father’s loss and shares in her sorrow. Matt is able to meet her again and wishes to learn more about her father and her. When he brings his niece, Samantha, to meet the famous author, for the first time in a long time, Jenna feels alive but she wonders is it enough to make her feel complete even with her physical scars.

Discovering Jenna is a must read for everyone. I was completely engrossed with the story immediately after I started reading. Jenna and Matt are intriguing people that touched this reader’s heart. Once again, Kim Watters has sketched a believable story in every way. The characters inside the pages have a handicap that makes them unique in their own special way. As Jenna was reflecting on her life and how she had been treated since the accident, I could share in her sorrow. My heart just melted when she met Matt’s niece. I found this terrific page-turner not only well-written but a beautiful inspiration.
