Cat's cover is as a lab assistant; someone on the inside has called her in to investigate, and she's not sure whether she's to locate and expose a cover-up, or to take a fall for someone else. She hopes it's the former, and also to get closer to sexy Max Didion of the Praetorian Guard. When she discovers the body of the late-returning-from-vacation Dr. Lexy Harris, superior at the top-secret genetic experimentation lab within the secret compound, Max discovers Cat, and admits he hid Dr. Harris' corpse. Then he nabs Cat and takes her to his quarters, tying her to his bed while he questions her about her presence in the compound. As Captain of the Praetorian Guard, Max clearly knows more about what is occurring in the complex than is good for him, or for Cat's cover. Wow! This is a fast-paced, exciting, and volcanically hot novel! I can't wait to read other novels by this author! I highly recommend this one, if you're looking for a page-turner that's unstoppable, a hot read, and an intriguing, exciting mystery!
