I loved the character of Disdain. He is a very complex, complicated, damaged, tormented, extraordinary ancient alpha. The relationship between Disdain and Alana is very unexpected and intriguing. Also, several other characters are beautifully written and very interwoven in Disdain and Alana's story. They are Master Zigor, Mel, Ash, Dechrista, Onan, Elizabeth, Rolon and Harold. My favorite of these characters is Master Zigor because of his strong patriarch/protector role. Also, Ms. Hill writes beautiful passion scenes. As a reader, I vividly share the couple's hunger. This book is part of a series of 4 books by Ms. Hill. Now I must immediately read the other books in the series. I found this story to be mesmerizing. It is forceful, has extraordinary characters and great passion and I loved it. I recommend it to everyone.
