Matthias McGaughey is a shy and distrusting young man. He's more at home at a keyboard than around others. Unsure of himself and those around him, he's always trying to figure out what they want from him. In the first chapter, it's hard to tell if this young man has been used or abused or maybe even both.

Kent Thomas is the resident advisor. When he first meets Matthias, you get the feeling he wants to sweep the young man into his arms and protect him from the world. His budding friendship slowly becomes a building attraction, at least on his part.

As we see Matthias peak out of his shell with Kent, you can't help but wonder what the catalyst will be that puts him right back in it. Like all good stories, this one has a climax that can put the reader on the edge of their seat. Matthias is a strong character with a lot of background, while Kent is the epitome of not judging a book by the cover. The easy going conversations are steeped with deeper meanings. I found a reluctance for the story to end, and a desire to know more about what happened after it did. This is a lovely story with a slow building passion. The romance in this while, heavy and meaningful with undertones of a quite mild, held almost subtle passion. The petting is very heavy but it is more low key when it comes to any full contact sex.

Sonja Spencer once again puts out a romance novel that shows love knows no bounds. I would recommend this book for those of you looking for something more meaningful that a quick roll in the sack. This is an easy book to fall in love with. My only real problem with this story is the lack of a chapter format. Even that doesn't stop me from loving this story.
