She has become the epitome of sloth, yet in her mind it is her only means of escape from memories of the betrayal of trust by her husband and the theft of her creativity by her employer. Alex and Melinda each experience moments of attraction but each denies it. Each acknowledges that just possibly, fate might be playing a hand in bringing them together. Before long, they will discover that coincidence and fate are two very different things. Distant Souls is a fascinating short tale with quite an interesting paranormal twist in Alex's cure from cancer and his subsequent talents for archiving energy and reading auras. He and Melinda are well-enough written to become appealing characters despite the outward appearances and the plot is keenly set up and intriguing. I recommend this one, and will anticipate reading more from Sarah Dickson.
