| Lucy Divine has landed a dream job. She's now the personal assistant to Patrick Holden, a very successful investor. Patrick is rumored to be extremely difficult to work for, but how hard could it really be? Well, Lucy is about to find out.
When Patrick meets Lucy, he is instantly attracted to her. He finds her so distracting that he makes it his mission to make her quit. However, Patrick will find out how quickly that determination is Lucy's middle name. I really enjoyed the humor in this story. It was quite funny how Patrick couldn't keep his head straight around Lucy and the things he did to try to deter her had me laughing out loud. Patrick could be a complete jerk at times and I applauded Lucy's attitude toward him. She handled him with grace and, when necessary, dished it right back to him. I did feel that the chemistry was lacking a bit and the story started to lose its steam for me toward the end. This was the first Garnier book that I read that I consider a traditional romance. I do prefer her spicier novels and while this was not one of my favorites, Torrid Tarot: Divine Assistant was still a good read.
