Stacey Manchester is pregnant and off men. She needs time to recuperate and decides to go on a vacation to Florida Keys. She pulls her best friend and roommate Penny along for a sailing holiday. She plans to laze around and think about whether to have the baby or not. What she does not plan on is the heartbreakingly handsome Jeff Sanders and his brother Dale. Penny immediately is attracted to Dale and pursues the attraction with an affair. If it were not for her ex-lover and father of her baby, Ian, Stacey knows that she would have done the same with Jeff. So she, with great difficulty, controls her urges and refuses Jeff’s advances at every turn.

But Jeff is one determined man. Stacey is creating waves in his life, where no other girl has even created a ripple. He knows he wants her and wants to convince her of the same. He needs a chance to prove to her that she is the one for him. After much hesitation Stacey agrees. But she has no idea what she is getting into. Jeff shows her a world of sensuality she has never seen before. Now her feelings are getting complicated. Can she walk away from Jeff after a brief fling? Can she be sure that she will not fall for him? Can she be sure that Jeff will not break her heart? How can she control that which is beyond her control?

Diving In is fast and fun. I have never been too fond of first person narratives, but I sure changed my mind after reading this one. The story gives an insight to the feelings of Stacey and the fluctuations and changes they undergo. Stacey and Jeff are definitely not your average main characters and are definitely exceptional. Dale and Penny are hot! Elayne writes a story that is really sexy, yet emotional at the same time. But the ending seemed a bit hurried. Nevertheless you can pick up this one for a quick and light read.
