| Dr, Jess Miller had worked in the Phoenix clinic for five years and he'd watched patients being shuffled around like cattle with their treatment. He was up for a promotion where he would be diector of the clinic and knew what changes he wanted to make. The problem was that he had stiff competition in another equally talented doctor. Jess stared at the poorly written message that his fourth secretary in so many weeks had written and dialed what he thought was the number to find it was not. He dialed again with the same results, then buzzed his secretary. What was her name again? Elaine? When his secretary answered she had a made-for-sex-voice, not the squeak of the last three. As she stood in his door, Jess could not stop staring. Where did this gorgeous woman come from? Jess felt blood rush south. He had never got this way since his teens, and knew that there were rules were that employees did not get involved but man did he want to break the rules!
Elizabeth Lane wanted to become a physician's assistant and open up a clinic in Grantsville where she grew up on the family farm. Elizabeth had to work and go to school at the same time. Her dad had had a heart attack but the doctor had assured her that he would be okay. This was the main reason that she wanted to open a clinic that was closer than thiry miles--she just needed to get a doctor to join her. Obviously, it would not be the arrongant Dr. Miller, even if he was drop dead gorgeous. Somehow she could not see this city slicker down on the farm! Such a shame so why did her knees weaken when she stared into his brown eyes? Sara Fitzgerald tells a delicious story where the sex was sweet but I did not mind as I was much more interested in Elizabeth and Jess. It was smooth and at the right pace and a refreshing change from what I usually read. Just What The Doctor Ordered is for the romantic reader.
