| Doctor Molly Jordan is a single mother and a cop's widow. Since the death of her husband, she has pulled a protective shell around herself, devoting her life to what's left of her family and her work. Until a sexy detective comes into her ER critically shot. Even on the gurney, Molly feels an undeniable attraction towards the wounded officer, a first since the death of her husband. Detective Daniel Sullivan is a strong and stubborn man. Even though his doctor's orders are holding him back in his investigation of a vicious serial killer, Danny can't help but be drawn to her. His bossy doctor inspires in him a wealth of love and affection the likes of which he has never known before. As Danny desperately tries to stop the killer, Molly struggles to overcome the anxiety of losing another loved one to a dangerous job.
Though I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I felt that it was a little light on the suspense. For a romantic suspense, I feel that it focused too much on the romance and neglected the suspense. The part of the murderer should have been a played up more and there should have been more interaction between the killer and the police trying to stop him. I liked the supporting characters very much. They were well developed and contributed nicely to the storyline. The ending though kind of left the little secondary storylines hanging. I was disappointed that the author didn't finish out their parts. However, those things aside, the exploration of Molly and Danny's relationship made up for the lacks somewhat. I may not have been on the edge of my seat with this book, but I was entertained and drawn in to the story. It was a good story, it made me laugh and it made me cry, two very good things to be able to say about a book.
