| Alonso Santori is an ancient vampire. He's been looking for his
life-mate for centuries and so far, he hasn't had any luck. He has
one foe the evil Lucius, the vamp who changed him. On the
anniversary of his turning, he hears a cry for help telepathically.
It's Jolie, a psychic who is trying to get away from Lucius. Alonso
rushes to her rescue discovering she is his life-mate - and faces
Lucius while Jolie escapes.
Lucius is an even older vampire. Immediately after wishing for a life-mate, he hears a lonely howl in the bayou. After changing into a wolf, Lucius meets Tala, a werewolf. Upon meeting, they each think they have each found their life-mate but Tala knows better! Tala is very afraid after what happened to her sister. Lucius seeks help from Alonso and there may be a solution but their love will be tested. Leonardo (Leo) meets Erin right after Erin kills one of Leo's friends. Erin's job? Vampire Slayer. She's taken it upon herself to avenge her family's death at the hands of Michael, a rogue vampire who kills for the fun of it. As she searches for him, she kills any vampires she comes across. When she meets Leo, she makes plans to eliminate him. However, Leo has other plans. Raife is "dueling" with a friend when he encounters a black cat and hears a female voice calling to him. He stops the duel and deserts his friend to follow the cat, for the voice is issuing a most tempting offer. He follows the cat to a shop and encounters Yvette, a reincarnated witch. The attraction is mutual and scorching! Now the couple must see to the destruction of the vampire who turned Raife, but she is very powerful. Can they do it? Descendents of Darkness recounts the trials and tribulations of a group of friends vampires in their search for their life-mates and the unusual women who are destined for these men. Ms. LaCroix has done a wonderful job of seamlessly weaving the erotic stories of these four couples together. If you like vamps, werewolves, witches, and lots of scorching sex, I highly recommend Descendents of Darkness! I'd love to see another book with Vincente and Damon's stories.
