| Christie Myers has problems; middle aged, recently divorced, the caretaker for her difficult mother-in-law, the mentor of a trouble teen girl and pregnant with her ex-husband's baby. But as math teacher in private all-girls Catholic high school this situation could also cost her career which she loves and needs. Then she meets a musician, Greg O'Connell, who is only in town for six months and her friends think they have found the perfect solution. Why not pretend Greg is her husband and the father of the baby while he is here? Christie would have an acceptable solution and Greg would have a place to stay.
This is a delightfully funny and yet poignant story. Christie is truly a nice woman who has been betrayed and wronged yet manages to find lemonade with her lemons. Greg is also a nice man who wants nothing more than to play his music and honor the memory of his beloved aunt. Neither could imagine that there could be so much more that they could gain from their getting to know each other if they can open their hearts. I've always heard that math and music go together and for Christie and Greg maybe this can turn into more than a temporary fix for their problems. Both Christie and Greg are deserving individuals that from the beginning I wanted to find happiness and joy; preferably together but if not then at least within themselves. I loved that Christie was uncomfortable and unhappy with having to lie to her boss because if it had been easy for her to live the lie then it wouldn't have gone with the rest of her personality as a really nice woman. And I loved how Greg's easy going laid back personality was the perfect balm for not only Christie but her difficult mother-in-law. If you looking for an entertaining romance that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed and believing in love then read Do the Math!
