After four years together, one would think ad executive Kendra Masters and her attorney fiancée Sloan Johnson would have managed to clear a few of the hurdles in their relationship. However, Kendra has major commitment/ trust issues, her mother hates the man she loves, Sloan's wayward brother is back in town, and someone is embezzling funds from Sloan's firm. With danger and disorder coming at them from every angle, will Kendra and Sloan find wedded bliss and the happily ever after they've dreamed of?

As a fan of Ms. Riley's work, I had high hopes for her first full length novel in nearly two years. Several of my friends have commitment issues and I found myself intrigued by the book's premise. While Ms. Riley's latest offering packed in a lot of content, I believe it ultimately failed to deliver in originality. Even though I did not enjoy Do Me Right as much as I expected, it was a fairly pleasant read. Several of the sexual scenes between Kendra and Sloan were very imaginative and downright HAWT! Yet my annoyance with the non-sexual aspects of their relationship, namely Kendra's emotional baggage, her overbearing mother, and Sloan's unrealistic acquiescence overshadowed the enjoyable moments. In fact, my confusion as to how in the world this couple managed to last more than a few months grew with each page turn. I found the number of details and subplots within the book distracting and wished one or two of them could be further developed or otherwise omitted. In her rush to pack it all in, the predictability of what were likely meant to be "plot twists" were discernable early in the book. In sum, while an overall decent read, the quick pace and lack of surprises or mystery prevented Do Me Right from living up to its fullest potential.
