| In order to learn more about herself, Dominique goes against her mother’s wishes and travels to the house her father left to her and the half-sisters she’s never met. She knows the answers can be found at the house, if only she knew exactly where to look. Bacclum, a half angel trapped in the house, is willing to do anything, including using Dominique, to escape his prison.
From the very beginning, the story is intriguing. Though it doesn’t start right away with either Dominique or Bacclum, it draws the readers in and progresses quickly from there. The story moves quickly to Dominique’s arrival at the house of her father, though she can’t really call him that herself, and the pace never lets up. Bacclum and Dominique are great, full characters who enrich each other and bring to life pieces of themselves they need in order to find what each has been looking for. The connection she forges with Bacclum allows Dominique to discover the strength she never knew she possessed. Both of them will need that strength by the end of the story. The heat between these two characters scorches the pages whenever they’re together, and not just in bed. Their emotions fly off the pages and grip the reader. Kimberly Kay Terry has done a wonderful job with the opening installment of the Captive Souls series. This is an intriguing story and I look forward to reading the others.
