'Donegal', begins in the year 1172 during the Anglo-Saxon war. Elisha O'Connelly and Viciente develop a relationship. Elisha is killed when her husband returns home from the war. Viciente vows revenge against all O'Connellys and sets about on a course to remove them all from the face of the Earth. Viciente is a vampire and he has killed all of the O'Connellys except one. It is present day and Viciente has come for Alex.

'Donegal', is titled for the part of Scotland where the story begins. This is a psychologically thrilling story about a vampire serial killer. When Viciente notices that Alex looks like his lost love Elisha, he has to decide whether to kill her or make her his own. There is violence in the form of a vicious rape. Kyle Southworth is the police detective assigned to find the rapist. There is also a serial killer on the loose. The characters are colorful. The plot is terrifying and all aspects are fully developed. This story will keep your on the edge of your seat. I found myself holding my breath as I read; I was so into this frighteningly disturbing thriller. I did not see much romance in this book. It was more violence and obsession. As a paranormal thriller I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but it left me with a dark feeling. Not something for light reading. I recommend this book to adult readers who enjoy a good scare.
