| Sheer enjoyment from first page to the last. A wonderful tale of courage, honor and love! Elizabeth Mac Namee a young girl at the verge of womanhood, only wants to prove to her father she is capable of taking on responsibility. All was going fine until she was starting back home from the neighbors ranch and got lost in the woods.Without warning she was surrounded by a small party of braves and was soon their captive. As she looked at these young men she couldn't help but realize that the two taller ones were indeed not Indian especially the one with the blue eyes. She was impressed at their command of the English language yet she found it hard to believe that they both preferred to stay with the Indians than to find their family. White Eagle explained that he and his brother had no need for the people who cast them out leaving them to die, they were native now and that's how they would stay. Elizabeth only wanted to get back to her family and after repeatedly trying to escape she was always brought back by White Eagle. The young brave found her courage inspiring and soon he was captivated by this young woman more than she was the captive. Her time at the village brought a new understanding of these people to her and she healed in what limited way she could in healing those who were sick. Slowly White Eagle found that he didn't want her as a captive but he cared for her deeply. Only she had made it clear to him she would not give her heart to any man. Will White Eagle find a place in the heart of his beautiful lady? Will Elizabeth ever see her family again? What of the two brothers will they truly know the story of how they came to the native village? I strongly suggest you read this book it has the special magic that takes the reader into the story and makes us live the story along with the characters. Well written and allows the reader to become part of a time in our history we only read of in books. Excellent!!
