Double Danger by Penny McCall
Dr. Abby Drake left Washington to come to Pottersville to stay with her elderly grandfather. The townspeople have not accepted her as one of them. Rarely is she allowed to “doctor” any of the residents. But one cold night she is given a corpse and asked to perform the autopsy. Opening the bag, she finds Drake, a college relationship gone wrong. She's even more disturbed to realize Drake isn’t dead and an FBI agent and her grandfather has been hiding some major secrets.
As they hide out to escape from the mafia, they discover the attraction they once shared in college never faded.
All the stories in this anthology were well written with interesting storylines. My favorite novella was the first one, Deuces Wild by Lori Foster, because it’s a spin off of her Winston Brothers series. Dexter is the kind of hero every girl wishes to have, and Christy was the perfect heroine for him. You won’t be disappointed by any of the stories in this book.
