Fiona McCarty is a recognized expert on pottery and while on a dig in Greece she finds a vessel decorated with a painting of two gorgeous men in the act of simultaneously penetrating a woman. Reconstructing this vessel consumes her to the point of becoming a near obsession until she finally puts the final piece in place to complete the vessel.

She wakes from her exhausted sleep the next month to discover two men in her bed with her. They calmly announce that they are Castor and Pollux, the Gemini twins of Greek mythology, and they had been trapped in the vessel until she had released them.

Disbelieving at first, they manage to convince Fiona that they really are Greek demigods in more than just looks and proceed to get into incredible amounts of mischief in the towns surrounding the archaeological dig. At the same time Fiona is attempting to keep them out of trouble, she's also trying to resist her own desires for both of them.

But soon the interactions of Cas and Pol with the mortal humans becomes the least of her worries. Now the woman in the vessel's painting has appeared and she's learned that Selena is a half-demon demigoddess who considers the twins to be her property and seeks to trap them again.

Allyson James has done a great job in her portrayal of Castor and Pollux. The relationship of them as twins was very well done with similarities and differences that are distinct and yet work perfectly together. They came fully to life as well-rounded characters with many many years of history between them.

Fiona is a heroine after my own heart - strong and self-sufficient yet with a few niggling insecurities that she seems to almost resent in herself. I cheered her on as her relationship with the twins grew and evolved and really wanted her to win out over Selena.

This was a fascinating book for me. The mythology was very well portrayed and the characters had a terrific sense of humor and ability to laugh at themselves that I really enjoyed.
