Steve Campbell is in love with his best friend and business partner, Connor Morrison. He's never told him and now it's too late for regrets because Connor is contemplating marriage with his boyfriend. Having a successful life with all the trappings is not quite enough anymore, Steve would love someone special to share it with. When he has an encounter with charming escort Dylan his life will never be the same.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this one but I like the best-friends-to-lovers stories. It wasn't at all what I expected so I was somewhat disappointed. It's definitely not the romance I was anticipating. It's basically a short story of one man's self discovery and what happens along the way. The characterization was okay with Dylan being the most appealing. I would love to read his story. Dylan for me was the best part of the book. This story is connected to Priceless which I haven't read. Maybe I will read that one at some point. At any rate, Doubtless is a okay story about Steve's epiphany. We get to follow along in his journey. I was happy the journey wasn't too long. I didn't like the ending although it fit the context of the story. I'd say the ending is bittersweet along with my review.
