| Darrek and Rand are Lara’s friends, but because she is entering khef, a dragon’s answer to being in heat, only much more intense, she must choose one of them to marry. She knows they would rather have each other, so she leaves Djarera and is captured by Zendar, who was exiled years ago. Does Zendar just want revenge against Lara’s mother, the reigning queen, and will he get it by mating with Lara? Is she the key to his freedom and return to Djarera?
This is the second book in the Dragon series. This fantasy story is full of steamy sex like you expect from Ms. Defoe, but it also shows the honor, commitment and deeper feelings the heroes and heroine feel for each other and their kingdom. I haven’t read the first book, Dragon’s Daughter, and I don’t feel like I missed any information. However, I do plan on reading it in the very near future, and hope Ms. Defoe lets us visit Lara and her men in the future.
