A dragon has bitten Kei, a dragon slayer and king. He is brought to Lorran for help; it is not the wound that threatens his life, it is the fighting for control of the dragon. Nekane, Kei’s inner dragon, has decided that Lorran is his mate. Nothing will stop Nekane from claiming and protecting Lorran. If Kei loses the battle of wills he will be transformed into a dragon, forever losing his human side. Dragons are banned in the Seven Kingdoms and are hunted and killed.

The only thing that calms the dragon inside is when Lorran is touching Kei. Together they must battle the will of the dragon. Kei must learn to cope and fight Nekane for control. Lorran must deal with loving the man who will be consumed by a dragon.

Is Kei strong enough to withstand the transformation from man to dragon? Will Lorran be able to sooth both the man and the dragon within? Will she come to love the man that killed her husband?

Ms. St. Clare does a wonderful job answering these questions. She has built a world where love can withstand anything- even the will of a dragon. Lorran and Kei are loyal, loving and compassionate people, willing to sacrifice themselves for others. Lorran is a strong female; she is a perfect match for Kei and Nekane. This is a fun, fast, and sexually charged book. Hopefully there is more to come!
