| Josie is in the military police for the Army, and at this moment is right in the middle of capturing a man that had just shot her partner. It’s turning out to be quite a night, her rookie partner is shot and probably dead, and she’s out on her own trying to catch his killer with no back up. She’d called for it of course, but it’s going to take a while for them to get there. When she sees a man out of the corner of her eye, she’s not sure whether he’s part of the problem or an innocent bystander and has no time to find out for sure. Then he decides to capture her for his own purposes…
Nigel has been looking for a woman to pose as the queen of his world for a long time. When he sees Josie fighting a criminal and being the tough woman she is, he thinks he’s found the right one. Unfortunately she seems to be in the middle of something that could kill her, so he decides interfere in order to take her to his world. After all that, only do they end up in the wrong world, Josie doesn’t want his help, and nothing to do with his plan. I had a good time reading this story, the characters were both strong people that had to learn how to work together, and sometimes they learned the hard way. Landing in another world and being dependent on Nigel was not an easy thing for Josie, who had been self-sufficient on earth. Nigel hadn’t had to deal with a woman that had such a strong independent streak, and the fact that he was attracted to her more than any woman from his home world throws him for a loop. The friction between the two kept me absorbed in the story, and the sex was passionate and believable. Dragons of the Dawn was a wonderful book that keeps you intrigued until the end. Definitely a keeper!
