| Can Lady Katherine, future ruler of Latharia, overcame what happened to her in the past that changed her Dragonstone to black, the color of true evil. Does she have enough faith in herself to retrieve what was lost and fulfill the prophecy?
After being away from Alarica, Lady Katherine returns, having spent three years in the Paladin Sanctuary learning, training in various fighting skills, and healing her mind and body. She's now home. During the competition to replace the Captain of the Guard, she meets Sir Logan Shepherd, a knight of great courage and strength. In this journey that Lady Katherine and Sir Logan undertake, they discover a love for each other and the strength that it takes to overcome the past and begin to create a future for themselves. This journey involves a fight against black magic, trolls, dragons, healers, and the powers of the Dragonstones. When she discovers how to change the color of her stone, and when they are brought together, she learns the power that the joined stones have to destroy the evil that the black Dragonstone brings. It's also a journey of true friendship and faith in those around them. The battles draw them closer together and brings Lady Katherine to her father, Pythagoron, a dragon shape-shifter, together again, and find out that Pythagoron also has been an important part of Sir Logan's past. Ms. Young has written a wonderful story of love, hope, magic, dragons, and the battle of good and evil. I really enjoyed her descriptions of the different people and creatures in this book. You can actually picture what you are reading. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys adventure, discovery and dragons. I am looking forward to reading her next book.
