Camille D’Artigo, Moon Witch and bookstore owner and her two sisters have been exiled to Earthside since her father has been declared a traitor. Their job is to make sure that the portals are not breached and to look out for new portals. These new portals are popping up everywhere as demons and fae search for the three spirit seals. When all three are found and brought together all the portals will open and the all three worlds will be in trouble. Amidst the fighting, Camille must honor her oath to Smoky the dragon. She has agreed to be his plaything for a week; he wants forever. And then there are her two other lovers Trillian and Morrio. Morrio is present and helping in the fight, but Trillian has been sent on a mission he might not survive. A human knows the whereabouts of the third seal and Camille and her crew must find it before the evil Karvanak or Morgaine do.

This story is loaded with action from beginning to end as Camille and her family and friends fight demons, trolls, and otherworldly creatures. The characters are a mixture of Celtic, Norse, Asian, and Native American mythology among others and there are many creatures that I have never heard of jumping through the portals. Though it will be helpful to have read the previous three books, this story does stand alone well and the author never leaves you in the dark about what is going on. The relationships between Camillle and her lovers will keep romance readers very happy and the fantasy fans will have nothing to complain about here also. I enjoyed this story very much. Hopefully the next story will fill us in more about the girls’ father and the fate of Trillian. The politics of both the Otherworld and Earthside are complex, and I felt for the three sisters who don’t really fit in in either world, but are willing to give their lives to keep both worlds safe.
