Things will not always go smoothly for the couple but through all their trials their love will last forever.

The Dreamer's Loom the title is describing Penelope. Penelope has prophetic dreams. She is a talented weaver and many of her dreams she recreates on her loom. The characters in this story are very colorful and described in such a way that they are easily pictured. Penelope is fifteen years old. She is skilled in fighting and she enjoys dressing as a boy to run and enjoy the freedom it offers. She is intelligent and remains loyal and devoted to her family. Odysseus is someone that hides a lot from others. He feels people look down on him for being a prince of a small poor country. People feel he is a liar and manipulator. They do not trust him. He is vulnerable and finds it hard to trust others. Yet he trusts and loves Penelope. He makes her a loving and devoted husband. The plot of this story is faith and trust. For there will come a time when Odysseus will have to go to war and ends up leaving on a voyage that last sixteen years. Penelope and Odysseus will prove that they love and are faithful to one another. The dialogue is well written and flows smoothly. Michelle L. Levigne has written a version of Odysseus's story from the view point of Penelope that is creative and a joy to read. It is an emotionally involving story that will have you worrying through the many trials Penelope will face. The cover of the book depicts Penelope looking out to sea waiting on Odysseus's return. It is well done and sets the stage for their time of separation, when Penelope spends years waiting for Odysseus's return.
