| Far into the future, there is a new race of people being born on earth called Firewalkers. They have special powers that can vary from person to person. Humans fear these powers, and have started killing off the children as soon as they are born. Caris is a strong psychic that has been working tirelessly with other Firewalkers to save these children. Sometimes, when she dreams, what she dreams about happens, if she wants it enough. She's always wanted a Vampire lover, even if he only exists in her dreams. When she wakes up one morning after dreaming of her vampire lover, to her surprise and delight she finds one has appeared.
Jax is from another planet where his race is hated and feared. He can't believe that he's ended up on earth, but he loves the freedom. He immediately falls for Caris, and starts to help the Firewalkers in their task of saving the children. Will his help be enough? Will he be able to understand Caris and her unusual abilities? Fire Walkers: Dreamer, is a good story, there is a rich variety of characters to keep you interested in the story. Caris is a fully developed personality who has a lot of problems she withstands with patience and strength. Jax is a warrior, and has a tendency to charge in and overtake situations; I liked his strength and confidence. There is a third person that is in the book that I didn't mention, and that's Caris's friend and sometime lover Sage. He is an intriguing character, and I can't wait to see what happens with him. I enjoyed the interactions between the two characters, they were equals and you could get a good sense of what both of them were feeling. The only problem I had was that I wanted to know what was going on with the other characters as much as the main characters and it was a little distracting. There is a lot of sex in the book, with a threesome thrown in and believe me, it's hot. I would definitely recommend this book, and I can't wait for the next one in the series to come out.
