Sheriff Brice Campbell usually has a quiet time when on the job, and he cannot believe that a kidnapping has occurred in Benton County. Kidnappings do not happen here and he will do whatever he can to get the little girl back - even if it means calling in a family favor from the man in charge of a very special, very elite group of Rangers.

Major Jason Jacobs runs a specialized group of military individuals who excel at tracking and finding what they seek - all due to one woman. Grace is a psychic with no past and no future. Her entire adolescence and adult life has been devoted to, and utilized for, the tracking of humans. As the personal repercussions of her findings are wearing her down and more and more, she is searching for a way to escape. She is not a free, independent person but one who must work on the whims of the government; she has no reasonable expectation of a life that is not tethered to a team of trained men.

It is only when she comes to Benton County to find the girl, and then finds herself unable to leave that the job becomes personal. At first, Brice is seen as just another man who will boss her around, but he soon becomes the man who shows her what life should be like -a life that could be cut swiftly away if they fail to stop the person who is willing to destroy them all.

Suspense, action, thrills, hot sex and emotional ties are explored and superbly rendered in this book by Ms. Wine. This was an extremely engaging and captivating story and I hope to read more from her in the future. Highly Recommended
