Anna's sister, Sandra, has been attacked by the Chameleon. He took her memories, and along with them, her life force. She now lies in a coma, completely unresponsive, and the doctors have no idea why. But the Chameleon knows Anna has much more psychic force than Sandra, and is making plans to get it.

The Hawk is centuries old. He and others within his society are threatened by the Chameleon. His ways might reveal that their race exists, and that could lead to a war with humanity. They've been hunting him for a long time, and only now has he made a mistake that may allow them to capture him.

One day, an FBI agent, Ian, shows up asking about Sandra. He believes she was nearly killed, as many other women have died with no apparent reason, some after lying in the exact same coma that Sandra lies in. Anna knows that Sandra was seeing someone right before she was found, but has absolutely no details about him, not even his name. But Ian believes Sandra might still be in danger. If she somehow comes out of her coma, she could identify her attacker, making her a threat to him. So he has Terri stand as her bodyguard while he and Anna try to figure out who attacked her. And Anna knows someone did, because when she went into Sandra's room, she felt the emotions Sandra had while last there. But Anna refuses to acknowledge her ability, and refuses to use it.

Dream Snatcher had a rather slow pace. The events, especially the suspenseful ones, developed tediously. Much of what was in the book could have been cut out or shortened. Had that been done, I think the story would have been faster and much more enjoyable, as it did have a fairly good style to it, and an interesting plot. The romance between Ian and Anna wasn't intense, but it was heartfelt. Overall, the book was just okay for me, but I think romance readers looking for sweet paranormal romantic suspense would really enjoy it.
