| Dreams of Charni is the first book in the Warrior of Earth Saga. It begins with a dream, a dream so vivid that it becomes more real then the world the dreamer lives in. The dream comes regularly as does Jason's scream as he jerks awake from it.
His fear of mental illness leads him to a psychiatrist, who then sends him onto a specialist in parapsychological phenomena. On his way to meet the specialist, he stops by a book store. Browsing through an ancient book a piece of paper falls out. It is a star chart. But even more surprising then the star chart is the glint of metal in the box's bottom. It is an amulet. The exact amulet that has been part of his dream. Not understanding the force behind it, Jason buys both the book and amulet. Still feeling his sanity slipping, he agrees to a sleep experiment conducted by Dr. Gottenberg. A decision that is a catalyst for the journey to come. With the book and the amulet on his bedside table, Jason slips again into the dream, but this time when it comes to the instant he normally awakes, he doesn't, but instead finds himself in the world of his dream. Dreams of Charni, introduces the reader into a world, of violence, death, slavery and love. It is a rousing fantasy adventure that I very much enjoyed. I will be looking for the next volume very soon.
