| Jenny Matley could not remember her father and every time she asked her mother about him it upset her, so after a while Jenny quite asking. For as long as Jenny could remember it had always been just her and her mother, until Jenny married Vic Matley - now her soon-to-be ex husband. Their marriage has been shaky ever since they found out Jenny could never have children. One night Jenny, her mother Audrey and Jenny’s neighbor Heidi were all watching television together, when the show America’s Mysteries came on. Jenny was in shock when the show was about her, her father was searching for her! When Jenny confronted her mother Audrey got upset and stormed out of the house, so Heidi made the call and Jenny talked to a man named Jared russell.
Jared was on a plane to southern California to see if the person who called really was Jenny. Jared would do anything to protect his friend Martin Ducane from being hurt anymore. It had been twenty-seven years since Martin’s wife Audrey had taken their daughter and left him with a broken heart. But Jared took one look at Jenny and knew that that was the same girl he made a vow to protect when he was just a boy. Jenny agreed to return to Riverbend, Texas with Jared to meet her father, against her mother's warnings. Jenny and Jared felt an immediate attraction for each other and Jenny could not wait to meet Jared’s six children. Once they get to Riverbend, Jenny stays with Jared, while she gets to know her father better. But once she visits him in the old house she once lived in the nightmares begin. Jenny is scared to death of the second floor but she can’t remember why. Something tragic happened up there and someone doesn’t want Jenny to remember what. When Jenny is framed for the attempted murder of her father the memories that she is hiding may be the only thing that can save her. DREAMS kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Even though this book does have some touchy subject matter, I would highly recommend it to any reader. Catherine Snodgrass has created a gripping tale of murder, deceit, and finding love, strength and forgiveness in letting go of the past.
