| When three friends decide to take a short cut through the Connecticut
Mountains they don't think anything could possibly go wrong. Well Alex figures something is going to but he doesn't expect to be hung up in a tree and performing first aid on his buddies. He certainly doesn't expect to go traipsing through the wilderness to look for one of his buddies. And he doesn't expect to do this with his room-mate, a guy he has had a crush on from the first glance.
The idea of unexpectedly hiking through the wilderness is an incredibly appealing plot line. This plot line was definitely unpredictable. Throw in the fact that the main character is going through this kind of a conflict with a guy he's had a crush on from the beginning of the semester and this just make the story that much more appealing. The main character, Alex, lends a humor to the story that shows his personality and makes the reader laugh out loud. Although the main plot line and the love story did not seem to connect in some areas, LB Gregg does an excellent job of connecting the suspenseful plotline and romance using dialogue towards the end. This novella has it all: Suspense, romance, and humor. You will not be disappointed.
