| Anna Carrington is the ward of the Duke of Fairmount, Jared, and is deeply in love with him. She's is now of marriageable age and knows his grace will be trying to marry her off. Jared, for his part, is a very honorable man; he was always kind and gentle with her as she was growing up. He knows it's time to marry her off but isn't really sure he can do that.
Ms. Cole wrote such a wonderful and sensual story. Anna was an incredibly innocent heroine. She dreads having to marry someone she doesn't know and love, basically someone who is not Jared. He in turn knows his duty. While he is always super honorable, he seems to be almost obsessed with Anna. He has his moments of being a bit awkward when he goes to Anna determined to have her for his own, if that's what she wants… This is an incredible love story. Our hero and heroine's growth in this tale is very well done. The pace was good and the love scenes were so VERY steamy, I needed to keep fanning myself. It was such a sweet and loving story, Ms. Cole was very successful in her telling of this tale, I only wish it had been longer!
