| When Caitlin’s engagement ended she decided to follow one of her dreams and moved to England. She found a job in Holworth Castle, now a bookshop. She never expected to meet its ghost. Adrian, Earl of Holworth was cursed first into a painting of himself and then to haunt the castle thereafter, because he refused to marry Elizabeth, Lady Beaumont who was also a Celtic witch. His existence seemed pointless and endless until Caitlyn started to work at the castle. He has waited two hundred years for the woman he always wanted.
I really enjoyed this original story. Adrian is a very sympathetic character, very sexy, but not the Regency rake the author could have made him. His sense of honor led him to his current situation, but he does not mope around feeling sorry for himself. Caitlin is a strong and sensitive character with a fascination for English history. Adrian is the perfect hero brought to life. There is humor in the story also. I enjoyed the concept of a ghost doing inventory in a bookstore. The nineteenth century portion of the story is as good as the twenty-first and the author is equally adept in historical, contemporary and paranormal aspects of this very good romance.
