Ian McKay moved from Boston to Seattle for ten months to work on a new project; he had leased a home from a teacher who was relocating temporarily. He did not get into his new home until after 2 am, so he was really frustrated when he was awakened with a weird noise. When he looked outside, next door there were three children running, laughing, and hunting eggs and treats. He realized the notoriously rainy Seattle had a wonderful, sunny appearance, he decided to shower and look around. After finding food in his refrigerator, he prepared breakfast and then walked outside. A breathtaking woman from next door (with the kids) spoke to him and invited him to join her family for Easter dinner at 6 pm. He agreed although he really needed to met Sandy Peterson’s husband quickly so that he would remember that she was married with three kids, Jason, Jennifer, and Joy.

Susan Lyons has done a really good job of telling a story in a minimal amount of words. Too many times, there is a lot of ‘story’ left out when a story is concise. However, Ms. Lyons knows how to write to get her point across with fewer words and still present an interesting plot and characters. I recommend this book to anyone who only has a short amount of time to fill and wants a good story to read!
