Spirit Lake is a place that holds many secrets. Erica Parkhurst comes to Spirit Lake Inn to help the owner Evelyn Black. Evelyn is in the hospital with a broken leg and needs Erica to run the inn. In the past Erica was involved with Joe Lakota, a park ranger. She is insecure with this relationship but looks forward to the time they will have together. At the inn strange things begin to happen. There is a room that stays cold no matter what the temperature. There is the sound of weeping and no one around. On top of the spirit activity at the inn something else is happening. A woman is murdered and the main suspect is Joe. Erica will have to face her insecurities and decide if she has enough faith in her love for Joe to stand by him through this ordeal.

Echoes Of The Past is a story where we learn some of the secrets of Spirit Lake. It is a place rich in history that will enthrall the reader. Audra Cole has written an erotic tale of suspense and mystery. As accidents happen and paranormal activity continues the reader anxiously reads waiting and gathering information that will solve the mystery. When not trying to learn more about the mystery we are reading the scenes where Erica and Joe become intimate. The sex described in these scenes is scorching. Described in graphic detail we can easily visualize the passion between these two characters. The dialogue is successful in conveying the thoughts and emotions of the characters. It is easy to become emotionally caught up in the story as we read and face Erica's insecurities. The paranormal activity is intriguing as we learn what has caused the spirits to haunt the inn.

This is a wonderful paranormal mystery that I feel the readers will find highly enjoyable. I can hardly wait to read more stories about this intriguing and mysterious place, Spirit Lake.
