Cricket Starr continues her Divine Intervention series in “Echo in the Hall.” Echo, a Greek nymph, was cursed eons ago by Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Echo is now a statue and stuck in a museum. However, she can sometimes come back to life, and she has discovered a married couple who has museum trysts. Little does she know that the security guard is watching Echo get off.

Alex, a photography student working at the museum for college money, finds Echo entrancing. The two quickly hook up, and the sex is amazing. But by finding the ultimate pleasure, Echo becomes human. Aphrodite tells Echo she only has two months to make Alex love her. Alex allows Echo to move in with him; after all, she was a statue and has no place to go.

You would think that with the sex being so great, Alex would fall hard for Echo. But he was hurt by a previous girlfriend who rejected him when he wanted to pursue photography and give up a lucrative career. So Alex has sworn off love and doesn’t trust women. Echo’s nymph sister, Nemesis, is ecstatic Echo is in human form, and swears to help her. The god Pan has always wanted Echo, and also plays a pivotal role in Echo’s destiny.

I’m familiar with Greek myths, and I thoroughly enjoyed the modern twist Starr has used in this novel. The characters’ motives and actions were well thought out and completely believable. Starr entices the reader by throwing effective hooks throughout her novels so you can’t stop reading. I desperately wanted the hero and heroine to end up together. The sex scenes almost melted my computer they were so intense. And Starr’s use of her minor characters is excellent. I really want to know what happens with Nemesis next, which is an essential part to any series. By the way, though “Echo in the Hall” is part of a series, it stands alone perfectly. Starr has a gift. She is one of the best erotica e-book writers I have ever encountered, and I’m way picky. I hope she doesn’t stop writing!
