| Steve Thomas received tenure at Eisner University through dedication and hard work. He was thrilled with his accomplishments but his family could have cared less. Especially his wife. He was excited to tell his family. But on the day he received tenure, Steve arrives home to find his wife in bed with another one of her men and near death. This was nothing new. His wife, Jessie, only thought of herself and did what she pleased without regard to her children or husband. After years of putting up with this behavior, Steve was done. He wanted out before she destroyed him completely.
Kristina Ingram took the counselor position at Eisner University because she wanted to be close to home. Within days of starting her new job, Kristina literally fell for Steve. From the very first meeting, Kristina knew he was married. But she figured there was no reason she could not be friends with him. A few years pass and Kristina becomes privy to a part of his home life. She refuses to offer her opinion but does agree to listen. And as the days pass into years, Kristina knows she will never be happy with anyone but Steve. WAITING FOR AN ECLIPSE is a touching story. This pulls in characters from RELUCTANT HEARTS while still creating a unique tale of sadness and love. Wiesner has held true to the series thus far. The blend of compassion meshes and focuses solely on the outcome. Steve and Kristina have many hurdles to cross. But then if they did not, this would not be a cleansing of a wounded warrior just needing love.
