| Kate Alexander was on the run and always looking over her shoulder. Would Josh, her abusive ex-husband find her and know she was pregnant? She ran, this time, to Silver Mountain, Colorado where her grandmother lived. She needed the peace and contentment she would receive from that loving relationship. She learned of the death of her sainted Grandmother Rachel from her former landlord, Matt Stevens.
Matt had become a recluse after his wife, Caroline took their young son, Sam, and left him in the middle of the night. The wreck that killed them both instantly also was to blame for his turning away from God. He had no intention of ever falling in love again. The arrival of Kate into his life was more than he expected or thought he wanted. This upcoming book by Ms. Mary Eason is a look into the lives of two tragic individuals. The characters were well developed. It was easy to fall in love with them and want to see them become a couple. However, this happily-ever-after had many rocky paths as they struggled through daily life. The other characters in this novel were believable and typically small-town people. They genuinely cared about each other. Ms. Eason did a great job of connecting her characters with the storyline. This book gave a great story about the love of God and how He deals with people on a daily level. It gives great portrayal of how God’s love is shown through others. It is not, however, done in a preachy way. It’s realistic and a poignant book about tragedy, friendship, love and devotion. I recommend this book to anyone who loves an unexpected, though quite emotional, ending. I expect great things to come of this book. Kudos, Ms. Eason!
