Aingeal Locklin has been a typical teenager. She intentionally tuned out her parents whenever they tried to teach her anything about elven magic. Now that she's a little older the elven council is sending Fearghus Brodie to teach her what she needs to know. He's a sex therapist who got involved with an unusual client in the past and it seems this time he's more involved than therapy would allow for again with Aingeal.

Lynn Crain writes an interesting story that interweaves Santa, his North Pole elves and those in Scotland. She builds a rich story of the extended family of elves throughout time. Aingeal and Fearghus become an interesting couple so that at times it's hard to tell who's helping who. Seems their sex life doesn't bother the council. They mainly want to know more about Aingeal's ability to interact with the other elements of earth, wind, fire and all living creatures. Once the sex thing is under control they want her trained by Merlin, another elf with ability to talk to the trees and land, to handle speaking with the other living things of the world.

The author fills the tale with a wealth of interesting personalities including Santa, his head elf, the housekeeper in Scotland and all of the council members. Doesn't seem like a lot of training goes on between Fearghus and Aingeal. But there is a lot of eroticism and sparkling lights that seem to be the shield that protects the people around them from feeling the full force of Aingeal's sexuality. It doesn't protect Aingeal or keep her from falling in love with her therapist. Only time will tell if he's smart enough to resolve past difficulties that come back to haunt him and realize what he has. This is a great love story enhanced by a lively and often funny cast of characters surrounding the couple.
